About Engineering
Interested in becoming an Engineer? The Engineering programs will help you build a deeper foundation in science, math, and engineering principles and prepare you for transfer to a 4-year institution to complete your engineering training.
Renewable energy, cyber security, space travel, manufacturing, human genetics, preventing disease, robotics, tackling poverty, and global warming… the career prospects in Engineering are boundless. As an Engineer you can design beautiful homes, more efficient machinery, ingenious electronic gadgetry, new wonder chemicals, environmentally-friendly heating or cooling systems, more economical industrial processes, or cutting edge software programs. Meaningful challenges on a daily basis are routinely conquered - an Engineer turns intellectual accomplishments into practical achievements. The Undergraduate Engineering Program at CCSF attempts to develop within students the ability to think analytically and creatively, and to become skilled problem solvers. An Engineering A.S. degree is required for many Engineering Technician jobs, but moreover it will help with the transfer process, should you decide to move to a 4-year program.
